Yes, it’s Tutorial Tuesday!!!

This week I was doing my normal frequency separation on a portrait, but ran across an issue with a lot of fine hairs on the woman’s face. Doing a bit of research, I stumbled upon this tutorial by Damien Symonds, who (by the way) is a great resource of information regarding Photoshop. Using the Dust and Scratches filter in PS, I was able to retain detail while easily removing all the fine hairs that were standing out because of my lighting (which I also apparently need to work on – LOL!). Needless to say, I thought I would share this with you! (even though my example still needs some work…)

Hi! I'm Kathy Newman, photographer and sole proprieter of KCNewman Photography, here in the amazing Antelope Valley. I love taking pictures. It is what I do. My camera goes with me everywhere. Beautiful sunrises, details of a flower, my lovely daughter...big or small, whatever captures my fancy, I capture it on my camera. I hope that you are inspired and blessed by the pictures as well, and want to have them in your home or business to add character and beauty to your world. I am also available for engagement, senior, newborn, family portraits, and especially weddings (I love weddings!), both in the Antelope Valley and beyond. I would love to work with you to preserve your memories. I consult closely with you to achieve exactly the photos you will cherish for a lifetime.
